Well, if you asked me about Mykonos, I would not be the greatest fan. It is way too crowded for my taste. To walk between thousands and getting jammed in the traffic is not the best way to spend a summer day. The beaches are beautiful, but I live by the sea and the beach is not something that I am missing. So, I would rather choose a mountain for a summer break.
BUT, it all changes if you choose the right season. May and October are my months for Mykonos. The place is not too crowded leaving space to really discover hidden corners of this beautiful island. Maybe you can even swim on warm days.
This May started with a five-day work trip to Mykonos. For the christening of little Stratos (which I am currently editing) and to photograph a beautiful (family-run) boutique hotel, where I always stay and of course I recommend.
And then, Hara and Dimitris, who are getting married on June 30, thought it would be a good escape from a busy season with work and preparations for their wedding in Astros.
So, they flew to Mykonos and met me there. We walked around the streets of Mykonos town and drove to quiet spots, making a romantic pre-wedding session. The days were windy but this uncovers the beauty of the landscape, wild and peaceful at the same time.
Here are some of my favorite images of the beautiful couple.
